The South Coast, or Caribbean Coast, has miles of beautiful coastline and beaches, and is also where Santo Domingo, the capital of the Dominican Republic, is located. From the country`s capital city to popular resort communities with spectacular beaches, golf courses and marinas overlooking the Caribbean Sea the south coast offers a wide range of variety to offer its many visitors.
The Domican Repbulic East Coast, mainly recognised as Punta Cana, is also made up of many other areas such as Uvero Alto, Playa Bavaro, Cap Cana and Arena Gorda. The Dominican Republic is fast becoming a favourite holiday destination for people from all over the world. With mainly all inclusive hotels, spread over beautifully scenic white sandy beaches. Although there are no actual towns upon the East Coast, resorts are self-contained mini cities offering a variety of different dining and nightlife entertainment. For the more active travellers there are a variety of watersports and facilities for deep-sea fishing.
